The Kolache is a delicious type of pastry so celebrated that annual Kolache Festivals are held in the United States and around the world.

The Kolache originates from the Czech Republic and Slovak region and has now made its way west across the pond to American shores. You won’t be alone if you have never heard of Kolaches, yet here in Indianapolis, we are fortunate enough to boast our own Kolache Factory.

Located at 96th and Allisonville Road, the Kolache Factory has built up its clientele primarily through word of mouth. Nevertheless, this is a perfect place to frequent for breakfast or lunch. Here, every sweet or savory craving is stuffed into a handy sized dough ball and served with perfection. Kolache dough is soft and spongy – not too sweet and not too salty.

Franchise Sales Director, Aaron Nielsen, sold a multi-unit Kolache Factory franchise for Cincinnati, OH on March 28th, 2010 to Dwight Retting of Houston and his brother Scott Retting of Cincinnati. Scott plan to run and manage the three locations. Plans are to open all units within the next 24 months.
